Central Utility Plant Upgrades at a New Jersey Shopping Mall

This project involved replacing of a shopping mall’s central utility plant. Site was surveyed and upon evaluation, it was determined that by replacing the existing chilled water and electric heating systems, a substantial energy savings could be achieved.

The upgraded project consisted of a complete mechanical-electrical redesign and installation of a new chilled water and hot water supply system inclusive of:

* (2) 900 ton chillers

* (2) 1800 MBH boilers

* Primary, secondary, and dual temp, pumping systems, inclusive of VFD control

* Dual temp coils

* Heat Exchangers

* DDC system

PROJECT INVESTMENT: $ 2,127,000.

ENERGY AND OPERATIONAL SAVINGS: $453,000 annually
